We Have an 11 year old...

Emily turned 11 (!!!) on Sunday.
The morning began with cinnamon rolls, gifts...
... including a pogo stick.  She hasn't stopped bouncing since.
Headed to church, then off to the HornCreek Tubing hill with friends
Walking up is always the hardest part.
This picture does not detail the STEEPNESS or LENGTH of the  hill  small mountain very well.
My friend Gretchen and I are getting old. We were afraid of that hill  steep mountain.
Fast...it was very fast.  As shown by the next photo....
There is a reason for the hay bails at the bottom.

Last week, Emily had a great time with Jeff and 3 other interns in Southern Cali visiting Christian colleges to do recruiting for summer staff.
He had so much fun taking her to all our favorite spots while in Santa Barbara.
She is sitting on the Biltmore wall.
A lot of kissing went on here --- back in the dating days at Westmont.
But I am digressing.
Here is Em in Hollywood.
Not quite the same feel as our Main Street here in Westcliffe.
It was a very memorable and bonding trip for this father/daughter duo.
Emily is a wonderful kiddo.  Not just saying that, either.
She has a tender heart. Lots of compassion.
She wants to do the right thing.
Trying to balance this new season of not being a little kid, but not a teenager either.
Fun times ahead...We just hope and pray we lead her in the right way, laughing a lot as we go, wondering if she too will one day end up on the Biltmore wall with her future hubbie.
And by the way, no kissing allowed, young lady.
